Comfrey Root (Symphytum officinale)
Comfrey Root (Symphytum officinale) is well known among herbalists for its exceptionally high allantoin content and powerful cell-proliferating properties and is traditionally used topically to promote rapid healing of bones, tendons, ligaments, and deep tissue injuries, earning it the name “knitbone.” However, internal use is strongly discouraged due to its high pyrrolizidine alkaloid content.
